A great jacket fabric does something a suit fabric doesn't have to, it carries texture and pattern on its own, without a matching trouser to lean on. Our Jacket Fabric collection is chosen for exactly that: cloths with enough visual interest and hand-feel to stand as the centerpiece of an outfit, from sport coats to unstructured blazers to casual weekend jackets.
Weights here run lighter and more varied than suiting, generally 180g to 340g/m, spanning wool-silk-linen blends, cashmere blends, herringbone, and check patterns from mills across Italy, England, and Japan. This is where texture does the talking: a nubby herringbone tweed, a soft cashmere-blend check, a crisp wool-silk-linen for warmer months.
Think in terms of contrast, not matching. A textured checked jacket works hardest paired with plain trousers in a complementary tone , grey flannel under a brown herringbone, or cream cotton under a blue check. Most cuts run 2m to 2.5m, enough for a single jacket construction.
Because pattern-driven cloths are inherently harder to repeat exactly, popular checks and weaves here tend to move quickly, worth deciding on rather than returning to later.
